Dear Anon,
I’m terribly sorry for the extreme delay. Haha. You originally asked this around finals week last quarter! Sorry! But here goes!
In all honesty, I really dont know exactly what I look for or what wins my heart, until I see it, or feel it. i guess you can say it’s different for every girl I like.
In general:
- God first. ‘nuff said.
- Trust. Trust me. Trust me that when I’m not with you, or talking to you, that I’ll still come back to you. Let me have my own personal time, with myself, and with others. Just because I haven’t seen you in a while or haven’t replied to you in a bit, it doesn’t mean that I’ve forgotten you. Basically, don’t be clingy. I suppose.
- Be real. I’m going to like you, for you, and only you. I don’t want you to have to hide things to impress me. Yeah, we all have things we want, but don’t have, but why focus on what we don’t have, when we could instead be proud of what we do have? I don’t need everything to be impressive. I’m not looking for someone perfect. I don’t like lies, and I really hate it when people hide things from me.
- Direction. I like girls who have a sense of direction in their life. It might be thinking a bit too far, but it’s always nice to hear what you have planned for your future, and how you set off on fulfilling those. I guess you can say that I like a sense of ambition.
- Effort. I want you to at least try. You do your part, and I’ll do mine. I don’t care if it doesn’t exactly end up the way we wanted it to, but if you try, then that just shows your willingness to do anything and everything for someone. Right? I’m really into being optimistic too. Just do it.
- Clean. I’m not into the smoking, drinking, or drugs business. It’s really just not me. If it’s part of your past, and you’ve changed, then fine, I won’t hold it against you. But if there’s going to be a future in us, I don’t want a future full of that stuff.
- Let’s Learn. I want a girl who can teach me, and a girl who I can teach. What? I want someone who can help me grow into a better person, each and everyday. Not just for her, not just for me, but for everyone around me. If we make mistakes, it’s cool, we can learn from them. Just make sure that they’re mistakes, and not choices. The first is a mistake. Do it again, and it’s now a choice.
- Talent? Naw. it’s not a requirement. Haha. It’s just bonus points in my book. I’d like a girl that I could pepper with. I mean come on, bump, set, spike? Why not? :D If she has something she wants to share, then cool, I’ll try my best to learn it too!
- Me! LOL. Okay, of course it’s not all about me. But I want someone that loves me, for me. You might not like every single thing, but be open to what I have to say. I have a whole story about me. What are you going to do? Read it, or just glance at the cover? Or maybe a critic’s review? Naw. If you want me for me, go directly to me.
- Support. I want someone who can be there for me. Not always, because I know they have their lives too, but I just want someone to try. I want someone to cheer me up when I’m down, someone to celebrate with me when I’m full of joy, someone to push me when I need the motivation, someone to be weird with me, etc. Someone to LOVE ME.
I have not had a girlfriend yet. I’m 18, but hey, I’m still pretty excited. I’m pretty new to all of this. And I’m running out of things to say. LOL. I would say more, but I also have homework! Well, there you go! Sorry again anon, and I hope you enjoyed it!
